From August 28 to September 1, 2024, the IEEE 20th International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering (CASE 2024) was successfully held in Bari, Italy. CASE is recognized as one of the flagship conferences of the IEEE Robotics & Automation Society. The theme this year was Automation 5.0: automation everywhere for better and smarter living.
The LISMS team made substantial contributions to CASE 2024, presenting two impressive papers:
- Hao Zheng – “DuHa: a dual-hand action segmentation method for human-robot collaborative assembly”
- Tang Ji – “Developing Cognitive Digital Twin for Smart Manufacturing: Methodology and Case Study”
Hao and Tang prepared a short video showcasing their CASE 2024 journey. Highlights of the event included keynote speeches, technical sessions, high-quality coffee breaks, buffet lunches, and a gala dinner that brought together scholars from around the world. Additionally, Tang and Hao shared their experiences travelling around Bari, saying the trip was enjoyable.
CASE 2024 offered an excellent platform for the LISMS team to demonstrate their contributions to automation and smart manufacturing.
